Coventry: A personal reflection

On 13th June, Weir Archer athletes took to the track for the Coventry Grand Prix.

The reputation of the track was the motivating factor for me to enter the competition, as it is faster than Kingsmeadow.

Spirits were high throughout the day on account of the sunny and calm weather.

Attendance numbers were high, with a special appearance from the Swiss team as well as competitors from other clubs around the country, such as Coventry Godiva Harriers, Velocity and Harlow.

Personally, I was thrilled by my times, as I got Personal Best’s (PB’s) in both the 100m and 800m races.

It was also excellent to watch the successes of my fellow club members, with strong Season’s Best’s (SB’s) and valuable experiences gained.

Here are the results from the Weir Archer athletes that attended:

Note to everyone: do not wear high-vis to Coventry competitions in the summer, as the flies love it - Natasha found out the hard way! :)

The next competition in the calendar is at Kingston upon Thames on 27 June, where there will be a host of races planned for the summer. Looking forward to seeing you all there!
